Default Which lens is a good pick?

Right now I switch between two Canon lenses, 18-55mm and 55-250mm. I work at a day camp as the photographer and the switching is not working for me. I need a lens that combines the two that I can use for portraits, landscapes, nature...just about everything. I'm looking at a Tamron18-250mm or 18-270mm but I'm just not sure what would be best.
Does anyone have any tips or advice! Thank you so much!

If you absolutely MUST have a superzoom, I'd go for the Canon one. If you can afford to lose a bit off the long end, Canon also make an 18-135 that is miles better.

I would recommend the Canon 28 - 135mm f/3.5 - 5.6 IS USM. Or if you absolutly need the 18 - 250 range, I would recommend the Sigma 18 - 250mm f/3.5 - 6.3 DC OS HSM.

Both lenses have the image stablization and the Ultrasonic motors for faster focusing. But remember, when you go into these multipurpose zoom lenses, the low light conditions can be troublesome and may need a flash.
