I don't have one, but I think it rocks. I was all set to get one when my XT went belly-up, but then Canon Service offered me the Loyalty Program, and I was able to get a 50D refurbed body for less than the T1i's then-pricetag.

I wrote a review on mine the other day, on Canon's Website.
I'll put it here for you to see. Great beginners camera! Date: June 6, 2010 Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, reliable, fun Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor image quality, noisy First-off, I am extremely satisfied with the purchase of this camera. It's given me a relatively cheap and easy step into the hobby of a lifetime. I used this camera for shooting sports photography, landscapes, night shots, and architecture. First the Cons, then the pros. The cameras FPS rate is sooooo disappointing. Only slightly faster than a D30 which is a prosumer camera from canon back in 1996! This camera is way too slow for sports photography, and for anyone looking into canon's low-end camera line. Buy a 40D for sports shooting. The actual pixel quality is poor. Even shooting in RAW I found myself finding off-colored pixels. Shooting in JPEG with this camera is near-pointless. The compression to JPEG in the camera results in too much quality loss. For those who don't have a way to convert RAW to JPEG, but intend to do art or large printing with the photos should look for cameras with lesser pixels and a good processor. PROS! The things you guys should REALLY pay attention to. The T1i is not a pro line camera, and my expectation should not be so high, and neither should anyone else's. The camera is a solid, fun, and satisfactory build. It takes photos and then it's up to the owner to make something good out of it. Learning how to use the camera was the most fun I have ever had with electronics. The learning curve is what makes things cool and this is definitely something a person should buy to learn photography and cameras. Worth every dollar you spend on it. The reality of the image quality for cameras is that if you want to take a good picture, get a good lens. I'm sure that a large problem that I found was that kit lenses were not a good choice for me. I would much rather have just bought the body and looked for a decent lens to use. And I would have saved money that way. Now the reason I put this in the pros is that you can buy a different lens! The camera can handle all of Canons lens line! Even their pro line. I've use a few of the pro line and it's been absolutely a good experience. Great camera, I will buy from Canon again. |
