Default 7D vs. 5D

I hope to upgrade my camera one of these days. Currently shoot all my portraits with a T1i and 50mm 1.4 lens. Would you recommend upgrading to a 7D or paying the extra money for the 5D?

A salient question.
Another would be whether you do JUST portraits, MAINLY portraits, or a bit of everything.

5D2 is probably the way to go ... unless you need a higher frame rate or better AF.

Edit: do you have other lenses? EF-S?

Sorry should have been more specific. I meant the MkII. Yeah I would use it for Just portraits. And I do have the 18-200mm that I know I couldn't use on the MkII. But honestly I never really use it b/c I like my 50mm so much. I stopped by our local camera store today. They should get some in this week so I am going to go test both of them out. Just can't decide if I should spend the extra money for the MkII...

If you're only doing portraits, you've still got a quandry.

If youre planning on using lighting, you can use Canon speedlights commanded by the 7D's pop-up flash. However, if you go with the 5DmkII, you'd have to use some kind of trigger. That being said, if you're planning on using larger studio strobes, then the point is moot and you should go with the 5DmkII.

I actually use natural light, pretty much all outdoor on location sessions. So very rarely use the flash on my T1i.

Default 7D

I had a 5d MkI and bought a 7d so I'd have both an APS-C and full frame. Once I started using the 7d I never pulled my 5d out of the bag. Just sold the 5d yesterday...

I'm getting a 7d soon from the t1i, but I shoot sports and airshows. Why do you feel like you need to upgrade, the t1i takes great pictures right...?
