G'Day,
After exploring the new SX20IS a bit over the weekend, I seemed to have clicked some options that I shouldn't have (this happened while fiddling with them menu options in the dark) and now the viewfinder, besides showing a smaller rectangle in the centre of the screen, also shows a larger outer rectangle near the border of the frame. Does anyone know why this might be displaying? What purpose it serves and how to turn it off? Apologies if this question sounds a bit vague but for the life of me, I can't remember what settings I was fiddling with when this happened. While we are at it, is there a way to do a factory restore on this camera? Cheers |

Is it like a darker band on the top and bottom, or a hardline rectangle? Either way I believe the SX20 is designed to show the 16:9 crop for the HD video. This would look like a rectangle that stretches the width of the screen but leaves about 1/5th on the top and bottom.
