Default my shopping list please adivse!!

I'm new to dslr but I almost made up my mind on items that i need.
1. canon xsi(refurbished from adorama $479 with 18-55 lens)
2. 4gb transcend class 6 sdhc <---I think 4gb is more than enough right?
3.National Geographic camera bag ng 2345
4. Zeikos ZE-UV58 58mm Multi-Coated UV Filter for $ 6 on amazon. i was debating on this one, because some people said as long as it protects my lens its fine but some people said cheap lens might change the pictures any thoughts?
5.50mm f1.8 <-----i might just buy this after i'm used to bundle lens.
these are my lists so far. feel free to make any comment please thank you!
do i need wide angle lens, lens pouch
and which size uv filter do i use for .50mm f1.8? it's 52mm right?
thanks in advance!

All looks fine, though the filter worries me. Multi-coated is usually all you need, but I've only heard of Zeikos once or twice, and $6 is very low for a proper filter.

Yup. Looks like a good first list, and yes, the 50/1.8 II takes a 52mm filter thread. But agree with Os that that filter sounds a bit too cheap, and is likely to be uncoated (which means that flare could be an issue, as well as transparency). A Hoya HMC or S-HMC are my personal preference.

I can't really comment on the technical stuff as I'm too new to this myself but you might want to think about the 4GB card if you're anything like me. 2 weeks after I bought my camera I went away with the wife and kids for 3 days and shot over 10GB of pictures and that was just shooting JPEG! (I'd hate to think how much that would have been in RAW + JPEG (I still need the JPEG))
But then not everybody is as snap happy as me, I just love the freedom of taking pictures without the fear of how much the film processing is going to be!! (It just takes a long time sorting it all out when I get back to my computer!!)

What's worse, running out of GB. or running out of juice? Consider an extra battery too.
