Question How can I check the actuation count?

I am considering the purchase of a used canon EOS 20D, I have $500-$600 maximum to spend on a camera right now, and this used camera comes with two lenses and some extras like filters, two batteries, 2 memory cards, and cleaning kit. I want to check out how many clicks this shutter has gone through, since it is supposed to be good for 60K to about 100k.

I am also considering the Rebel xs, which I could get new for close to the same price, with just its kit lens and other included items. With the rebel I would know it was new, could get a warranty, but would have to shell out more if I wanted the other lens.

Anyway, I am trying to decide, so how do I check how many clicks, and what else should I check for on the used camera before purchase?
