Ditto. The T2i is much newer than the 50D, and has a few advantages over it: HD video, better high iso performance (the T2i's sensor is similar to the 7D's). The 50D is, to me, worth the difference over the 40D for the higher iso settings and autofocus microadjustment, but ymmv.

Unless you want movies - I would still go with the 50D
(1) Better erganomics (2) Higher FPS (3) Increased buffer size. I have a friend who had a 40D but now shoots with a 50D. Loves the larger screen and 15MP. Be careful buying a used 40D - mine has 90,000 + shutter actuations.
