Canon 28-70mm f2.8 L

Ok, think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and go for the better glass and be done with it. I have the opportunity to buy this lens but can't seem to find any reviews of the 28-70mm but can find the 24-70mm. I understand Canon switched to 24-70mm recently but wanted to ensure I'm buying well with the 28-70mm version. I'm not concerned with it being wide enough for what I'll be shooting. Just need a little more reach than my 50mm I've been using.

The 28-70 is essentially the same thing, just an older version.
