Default Does anyone have the Canon 7D ?

I recently purchased this camera and so far I LOVE IT. My main interest is portrait photography (indoor and out, natural and strobe lighting) I have found that the 7D is the top of the food chain for canon before getting into full frame. with it's 18mp, high ISO, and 8fps I feel that I can go pro with it.. as my main concern before was is full frame really necessary for professional photography.
MY QUESTION.... are there any pros out there shooting with a canon
7D and... I have noticed in the view finder kind of a film grain or a texture ... it doesn't show up on the pics but I don't see anything in the manual explaining this...
Thanks!

I'm sure there are pros who shoot with this body, or use it as a second body.

The focusing screen has a matte finish. It's what you see when you look through the viewfinder. If you take your lens off you can see the focusing screen above the mirror. It has a frosted glass look to it.

Thanks. I thought about the Focusing screen, but my Canon Rebel XT looked the same and I never noticed through the viewfinder? strange.

You might try to fine tune the diopter adjustment so that instead of the grain being seen, the focus squares will be the most sharpest.
Cheers!

Full frame isn't necessary but remember that the Canon 7D has a field of view crop factor of 1.6x because of the 22.3mm by 14.9mm CMOS (compared to 35.9mm by 24mm for a full frame sensor). So basically with my 24-105mm lens when I'm shooting with a local length of 100mm, I'm basically shooting at the equivalent of 160mm focal length. The lens specifications will almost always be for full frame sensors and with our smaller sensors we're only capturing a bit over half of the image the lens is projecting.

I'm also loving my 7D, it was actually a very easy camera to learn. I spent about two evenings with the instruction manual and feel that I have a good understanding of the settings, menus, and operation. Now I just need so time and experience with the camera.

Love mine. Love the easy to change settings, etc. And for sports shooting, it is the bomb.

"Intelligent Viewfinder with 100% field of view, wide viewing angle of 29.4°, high magnification of 1.0, intelligent viewfinder with glass pentaprism and an overlaid LCD display in viewfinder supports various shooting styles"

It's the LCD overlay that auses the the grainy look

it is heavier than a rebel. Been shooting with it for a couple of months now, love love love the camera. i've done several engagement sessions with it. Performs amazingly well, plus the wireless flash control really helps out.
as an answer to the first question, yes, I am a pro and use the 7d.
