Default Canon 5D Mark II

I am trying to find video editing software for my Mark II. Canon, in it's infinite wisdom, decided to record in the MOV format. H.264 MPEG4 to be specific. This format is Quick time. Quick Time is a sucky editor. I want something like AVID Studio Ultimate or Vegas. Anyone have any ideas? What do you use with your 5D?

Final Cut pro should do the trick.

Just transcode it to ProRes 422, Apple Intermediate, or HDV.

You could try Vegas for PC. Check with the specs on their website if they support the latest MOV files from the camera. I use several in addition to Vegas, like ULead and sometimes even the lowliest Windows MovieMaker have some nice set of features. Cheers!

Was going to say the same thing, I'm FCP7 and still have some issues when I get my timeline all wrong :-)

Hoping Canon release 24p for the 5DMk2 soon!

Squared 5 - MPEG Streamclip video converter for Mac and Windows
MPEG streamclip

Although I think you'll still have the 29.97/30 fps discrepancy.
