Default Rebel Card Write Protected Error

Yesterday my girlfriend and I went on a little hike and brought our cameras, she has a Rebel XS she bought recently. Never had a problem with it, but when she took it out and pwoered it up, it said "Card Write Protected". Couldn't shoot, couldn't format. I checked the write protect notch on the SD card, it was in the right place, it's even a quality SanDisk card, so I didn't expect it to have any issues.

When we got home, I popped it in my card reader and had no problem writing to it. for kicks, I formatted and tried it in the camera again... still, Card Write Protected. I did a little searching, and it turns out this isn't uncommon and it's an easy fix.

Just wiggle the card a bit as it's inserted into the camera.

I have no idea what the real problem is, the card not seating properly or something, but that fixed it after two or three tries. I'm posting this in case anyone else has the same problem in the future so they can search for it, and to see if anyone has any input on fixing this issue for good.
