Default Fixing a friends wedding photo

I was suppose to be the photographer for a friends wedding, but i couldn't make it sadly, so she use a friend of hers that liked photography but was much newer at it. So in return I edited some of the ones she liked and add a touch of artistry and fun to them.

Before

After

So first, Open your image in colour.

Second, I went on the web and found myself a vintage looking gold frame that was already in a white background (easier to select) then I selected the white part, then inverse the selection (it's easier to select the part with less detail and then reverse the selection) Once the frame is selected, copy it,

Add the frame where you want it on the picture. Flatten the image. Create a new layer, go to "image" "adjustment" "black and white"

Then I went to "image" "adjustment" "curves" Move the line downward toward the gray part till you have enough darkness, and move the line on the upper side, upward to add a bit more brightness.

Create a new layer mask (little square icon with a circle in it where your layers are) choose a appropriate size brush in black and erase the black and white from the frame and the part inside the frame. Once it all looks good. flatten image.

If you have a photo like mine where the dress goes in front and so is the grass, then save your image with a new name. Re-open the original, do the same black and with treatment with the curves to add contrast. then select the whole photograph and copy/ paste it on the newly edited one, and with the same layer mask and black brush, brush everything that is in colour, then switch your brush to white and everything you'll touch will return to black and white, so add the grass and the dress back in.

I then flatten the image, go to "image" "adjustment" "Hue and Saturation" and brighten the green grass so what's in the frame really becomes the focus.

Hope this all makes sense..haha
Have fun!!!

Thank you, And I got permission from the bride to edit her pictures for her, None are to be use for my own benefit, I only give the pictures to her and used it in this case for helping someone else to create this look.

It is also a part of what I do for a living, I edit wedding photos from people that paid for there photo from another photographer and either they don't like the look or they want a touch of art or fantasy. Not everr photographer is into the Photoshop look. I'm more into the creative part of photography which includes editing. And sometimes you can create a little bit of magic. It keeps the photograph new and exiting.

I'm sorry, but the frame just looks like you copy and pasted it on. It looks pretty obvious what you did.

Ok but that is not really what I was getting at. Unless the original photographer sold her the copyright to the photos what you are doing is illegal. I can tell you that if I had taken this photo and you changed them without my permission I would be all over you. Just trying to help you out.
