Default Selective Colorization

Here is a before and after of my attempt to do selective colorization.

AFTER:


Finally figured out how to get the picture like this...sorry for the trouble

How do you do selective colorization in Photoshop? Can u list the steps please?

I use a quick and dirty way of achieving it, I'm not sure if other people do this though!

1. Adjust your image so that all the colours, crops etc are how you want them to be.

2. Duplicate layer.

3. Open up the B&W window (ctrl+shift+alt+B) and adjust the B&W to however you want it to be.

4. Everything should be in B&W at this point. grab the eraser tool (E), make sure you've got the B&W layer selected, then erase the bits which you want coloured, et voila! You have a colour selection PP job finished and ready to go.

well...i didnt use photoshop..i used gimp....do you want me to list the steps on how to do it in gimp?
