The original shot from the camera looks like this:
![]() I wanted to bring out the colours a bit, and maybe give back some of the light and shade that was so evident to the naked eye. I used a trick that I read about here on DPS. I made a duplicate layer, ran a gaussian blur over the new layer, then changed the blend mode from 'Normal' to 'Overlay'. I played with the opacity of the layer for a little while until I was happy with the results, which from memory was around 50%. The shadows formed a bit of a natural vignette, so I flattened the image and ran a Distort -> Lens Correction filter over the result to add to the vignette. Now that I look at it, I'm not sure whether I like the vignette or not, but I'll leave it for now. The end result was: ![]() Camera: Canon EOS 20D Exposure: 0.01 sec (1/100) Aperture: f/2.0 Focal Length: 50 mm ISO Speed: 400

I like the way the vignette looks in the last one, makes that one middle flag stand out and look more distinctive.
good stuff.

I enjoy the vignette as well, though I think it darkened the flag in the foreground a bit too much. I like how it made the middle stand out, but a little fill light on the front flag wouldn't hurt.
