Black and White with color?

I have been messing around and recently found out how to do photos of black and white with color. Any thoughts on this process or if it just truly depends on the picture? I have better ones than this but just for a quick response I have the these two pictures available.

link it from flickr or photobucket/imgshack to put it in the post itself. the way you did it brings up another flash window to view the pics

the way i see selective coloring is to bring the eye to a specific part of the picture. eg. a bow, or flower in hair to bring eye to the face of the photo. you did a nice job doing the clothes tho, but it's all about personal taste.

Thats really unbelievable changing the colours...its tricky sort of thing..even i want to know this..i love photography very much..

Its actually pretty easy (because its probably not the best quality) its done off a free program you can email me or I can post it here how to do it.
