Was looking through my Lightroom catalogue and saw this photo, I liked it but it needed spicing up.
![]() I edited it first in Lightroom to fix white balance, sharpening etc. Then I created the sun rays using Photoshop Elements and this tutorial. Here is the result ![]() Let me know what you think. |

Nice original capture, fletch. My first reaction is that the angle of the sun rays is somehow not correct for this image. For the rays to be looking like that, the sun would have to be right behind those trees, which would not light the buildings in the background in that angle. Maybe the fact that I am not a big fan of PP sunrays is showing through here.
I like the original, however. I think the after without the sunrays is quite good, too. |

Original is nice, but haze, low clouds, high overcast. Nothing to support a bright sun effect just looking at the weather. Use that tutorial in moderation to enhance something already there

Hi Fletch!
I have to agree with above, the light beams don't look quite natural enough. For me the main interest in this photo is in the skyline which is bathed in beautiful warm light. I think a tighter image would have been better in this situation. I used to live in HK for 4 years, before I was into photography, now I'd quite like to go back to photograph, but have not been back for 8 years now. Cheers, Thomas
