Question Black and White to Color

I was trying to prove to someone that you can do anything with photoshop given enough patience and know how. The reason i post this is I just wanted to know if it's over done. Also, I created the color background from scratch and was curious if it worked in the eyes of someone not me. I'm TOO critical of myself.

This is a great job. You chose very warm skin tones.

The only suggestion I Have, and this was with the model, is that her green bra straps feel a bit weird. Personally, I'd try airbrushing them out. The colour is perhaps… distracting.

Default How to do it.

This was all about layers, an eraser and a lot of trial and error. There may have been an easier way to do it, but I just made a new layer/section for each color I added and erased what didnt need to stay. I took forever but in the end was worth it for me.

As for the straps, I appreciate the tip. I hadn't actually thought about them too much when doing this. They where only in a few shots before I had her take them off.

Looks great, i like the work that has been done on it.

I did notice something a bit dodgy, and I am not sure about this. But the chequered red cloth on the top doesnt seem to distort properly around the body.

It seems as if the layer was masked and the texture was placed behind the mask, not sure. Maybe more distortion will be needed to show how the cloth goes around the body? Some lighting might even do the trick.

Good job.

Great job! How long did it take you to color your subject? Is it using the mouse of stylus drawing pad? I did something similar to this with my own photo but did not have enough patience; so I only did the lip part.

You did an awesome job.
