LOL, you didn't "ruffle my feathers"... it takes quite a bit more than that to get me riled up. That was actually the calm and collective me. Never said mine first attempt was perfect. You asked for feedback and I gave you my opinion. Take or it leave it. I have no beef with you, I just call it as I see it. I've found that %95 of the time my gut instinct is right on target. ~Eric |

Cool then. Again, thank you for your input. It will make me think about the shot more on future auto shoots. One gets better by learning from their worst.

I like the creaminess of the color of the car. While the third picture does look a little cartoonish - so what? As long as you have fun experimenting.
Sometimes the fun is in taking a mundane shot and just making it a little more special. IMO, looking somewhat unnatural suits the subject. Exactly what is so "natural" about a 50 year old car in mint condition?Of course you are sometimes constrained by what you have to work with. I'm sure if you had total control of the situation you would've driven that old beauty right down to the nearest abandoned industrial area and produced some great (but lets face it, rather cliched) shots. Keep on shooting and keep on experimenting.

Thanks folks. I definitely would have set it in a different backdrop if I'd had the chance. My wife's uncle has a few other oldies that I might be able to get him to drag somewhere for a shoot someday. Then I'll be sure to set it up the way I want it!
