Default Sun Set

Before:

After:

In photoshop (cs4) all i did was go to adjustments, and fooled around with midtones of blue, yellow, and green until i got the desired finished.

Thoughts?

Nice cloudy sunset, Sara Jean. However, the "After" image is a little too greenish for my liking especially on the water. As a sunset image, I feel the overall colour tone should be more yellow-orange than anything else.

Hope you don't mind me editing your image but here is my take on PP. What I did:

1) Adjusted curves so that there is deep S, dragging it to the darker side.
2) Boosted saturation to +35
3) Changed midtone colour balance to a more reddish-yellowish setting
4) Adjusted contrast to +10
5) High pass filter for 1.0 pixel with an overlay layer at 70% opacity

I don't mind at all.
I know it's a tad green, (but it being my favorite color) i don't mind it.
Your version is great, but i find the yellow a little harsh, and the blue in the sky is taking away from the water.

But i'm going through a "mellow" phase, so that could be it too.
But I really do like seeing others input.
Thanks!
