High folks! I was inspired by a post in SYS to try my hand at some HDR using a single jpg. I used a shot of the grill of an old Ford Coupe that I took at a car show a few weeks ago.
I opened the original image in Paint Shop Pro Photo X2, and adjusted the exposure levels using the Curves tool. One hi-key, another low-key, and saving each under its own file name. I then opened the program's HDR feature and brought the original and the over, and under, exposed images into the pallet. I aligned them, and then hit the suggested levels button for brightness and sharpness. I wasn't too impressed with the result, so I started raising the sharpness level until I got a result I was happy with. I'm pleased with the results myself. How bout you? Before: ![]() After:

Thanks! I'm not familiar with Adobe's line of CS, so I don't know if it has a built in HDR function. I'm using Corel's Paint Shop Pro Photo X2, and so far I'm happy with it. I'm sure there are many, many things that Adobe does that Corel can't, but as a beginner, and for the price, I'm not complaining.

Very nicely done! It's subtle, not really "in your face". Good job!
