Interesting concept. It makes the photo look better exposed than normal without going over the top. I think "Faux HDR" like this is a good alternative to full blown HDR because it retains a lot of the original look.

yep.... Find automate- (I think it's under file or edit Not sure at the moment) and merge to HDR.

That was a great job. I love the result. I have PSP X2 and used it for awhile. Since I got PhotoShop CS4 that's all I use -- but is does have an HDR blending function. I love the result you achieved. I've gotta try this myself. There is a car show at the local high school next weekend and I already planned on attending. Looking forward to trying your technique.
