Default A Portrait

I took a photo of my sister today, and decided to experiment around with Gimp.

Before:

After:
Portrait

1. Duplicate the layer, and then desaturat it
2. Set the layer mode to "Screen"
3. Put the layer opacity to 79% (depends on photo)
4. Alter the Contrast/Brightness slightly (depends on photo)
5. I then used the burn tool, to improve the colour of her lips slightly

Hope you like it

This is a really great piece of work. A great example of using just enough post process to improve but not distort the image. Well done.

Nicely done. You really eliminated the cloudiness of the original. Great job.
