Default Camp Stove

There's a decrepit old camper at work, not sure why, but I got in there yesterday and took some photos of the decaying state it's in. Here's a before and after of the stove. Canon 450D w/ 50mm f/1.8.

I really like the rich brown colour you've brought out. And that bit of bluish tinge on the front ring really contrasts nicely. It sort of evokes the colour of the gas flame you'd see in a stove like that.

I think this works really well. The colour tones are much more like I associate with old/rust etc.

It almost looks a bit HDR'ish. Nice job.

Like almost all my photos, I do my editing in Lightroom 2. For this photo it wasn't much more than adjusting white balance to favor a warmer brown tone, vignette to pull the focus in and some spot darkening in the lower left to eliminate the edge of the counter. Then it was just contrast, curves and sharpening until it looked right to me.
