took the kids to Misquamicut Beach in Rhode Island when Hurrican Bill was off shore.. They could not go swimming due to rip tides, but I was able to get a few good shots and they still enjoyed themselves... this was my favorite from the set.
Before - Aperature Priority, F11 forgot to change the ISO, so ISO was at 400. ![]() After: converted in Corel Paintshop Pro x2. Used hue adjustment first, then black/white film effects, clarify, cloning, dodge, burnish. Some sharpening, digital camera noise reduction & blur to smooth it all out. Added a signature & border too. ![]() comments are most welcome! Last edited by moon-willow; 09-12-2009 at 08:24 PM. |

TBH it's a wee bit over dramatic. A little tweak in Channel mixer would give you a good B&W

Thanks for sharing! Its amazing what you can achieve through photoshop! I prefer the dramatic one to the one you posted later it is as you say more intense and dramatic.

I much prefer the second one! Great treatment!
You see? There's no accounting for tastes, or "chacun à son goût" as the French would have it!

Firstly, amazing shot, great photo.
Secondly, even though the second B&W looks softer and more realistic, i say the first one has the "dramatic" look like you said, which gives it a distinctive and unique style. Good Job. |
