I totally get where you're coming from when you say that you want the picture to tell a story, instead of just cropping out the bouquet. I think that if you crop a little closer on the right side and then re-construct the little bit of dress and arm that the jacket sleeve is covering I think you can get something pretty amazing.
Here is a rough example (It will be pretty easy if you have a lot of pictures of the bride, this is my take with just this one.) (Note: the shadow on the arm is not quite right, just a quickie to give you an idea )

No problem gabrielle7. If you still have that photo with the brides head attached i personally wouldn't crop her head out as whilst focusing on the flowers it would be nice to have a bit of life in the image. If you catch my drift? For instance AlieS 's crop and arm/dress reconstruction with the brides head added with perhaps the effect i suggested before or any of the other effects here would be a really great shot i'm sure the bride would love
![]() kencaleno, i don't mean to be rude but i think you're missing the persons point/aim a bit, as yes they are going for the flowers to be the subject of the photo, but without at least some of the rest of the photo its all a bit generic. Gabrielle7 i think is wanting the photo to be a touch more subtle in its focus and to be a bit more "specific" (for lack of a better word) in its story telling. Hopefully you know what i mean. I do agree about the brides dress being a touch over exposed though ![]() Correct me if i'm wrong on that gabrielle7

I have a lot of photos with the "whole" bride, but this shot was from the beginning like this.
My friend hired a professional photographer, but they make often this stiff photos with the couple and their friends/family standing straight. This is why I tried to capture new angles, but unforunately I didn't succeed. Maybe next time .

I think you have enough of her veil and neckline that the missing head isn't a problem. I think the missing space to the left (the bride's right) is what is hurting you the most. Both becaues of the cut off hand and because she's dead center in the shot with no good cropping options.
Personally I would cut off more of her head so it looks intentional and to hide the part of her throat that is strained with the muscles showing. |
