Default Lomo Pick-Up Truck

Helloooo,

Only got my DSLR a couple of months ago, after growing frustration with the old point-n-click finally took it's toll on my nerves.

Love this site btw. It has really helped shed light on things such as how exposure, aperture, ISO etc all fit together in the photography picture (excuse the pun).

Anyway, I recently went to a classic car show and took a shot that I thought would be good for a go with the Lomo tutorial, posted here http://digital-photography-school.co...mo-photography. The tutorial suggested to post the before and after so here they are.

Here's the before:

And here's the after:

(on next post)

I followed the tutorial pretty much to the letter, with the exception that I used GIMP, rather than Photoshop.

I'm really just learning, so I know it might not be the best, but I wanted to say thanks for the awesome help so far. Many of you have helped me a great deal, even if you don't realise you have been helping!

Oh yes, my pic data:

Sony a350 DSLR with kit lens (upgraded since taking this shot )
Focal length - 18mm
Exposure - 1/320
Aperture - f/9
ISO - 100

Cheers,

N.

I think you've done a good job with this - it really pops now!

The first photo looks a little flat but the 'after' pic is better. I agree with photofun, the car popped out after the post processing. The sky looked good too.

Cheers!

Yep, the chrome is much more aggressive in the 2nd shot. Fits the truck better. Great job.
