Default Buff Chick...

Perhaps this is a better place for this...

I'm just going to jump right in here and do this...so shoot! I can handle it.

I just took this photo a few minutes ago. I raise Silkie Chickens for show, and this is a chick that hatched this morning. It is in a "Ghetto Photobox" made from a Office Depot box that reams of paper came in, and I have cut a hole, put wax paper over it and placed a brooder light on top. The wax paper filters the light some. I set my camera to "macro" mode then adjusted the ISO and some other setting that I dont know what it is yet. The first pictures is as it came off the camera, and the second is PP (if thats the proper term. 2nd pic is in my photostream on flickr)

Here are my questions.

(A) is the exposure good, too little, or too much?
(B) how is the pp work?
(C) overall how do you like the picture?

Before...

Buff Chick

After...

Buff Chick Edited

Original EXIF:

Shooting Mode: Macro
Focal Length: 32mm

Apeture: F-7.1

a) Seems just perfecto to me.
b) Made better what is already well done.
c) I would probably have left the "original" alone, but I must say that your editing really enhanced it without loosing the “natural” look of the picture.

That’s quite an interesting description of your “Ghetto Photobox”, I wonder if you could post a picture of it.

WOW! It looks a lot darker than I was hoping for! I'm now at work and on a different computer, and it looks really DARK on this monitor.

On my screen at home, the black 'floor' that the chick is standing on looked kinda light, so I adjusted the contrast/brightness to darken the black. Looks like I messed up the chick as well. The head and side kinda lost some detail due to the bright yellow.
