I don't often make threads on this website, But I do like the information it offers on the rest of it.
This is going to be my first (half) proper thread in B&A. I do not recall a lot of my steps, but this is going to let you in on the gist of what I did. I'll try to highlight the major points, if there are any at all. 1.Open Photoshop (CS3, if your me), the picture you are going to use and some nice music to listen to while you enjoy playing around. Which after all is what I did. 2. I do not know if it is necessary but I did it anyways. Use a Patch or Clone tool to get a nice back ground like mine here. I did it behind my neck as well because part of the blanket was showing. Select the Clone tool (or if you have time to get EXTREMELY close, you a brush and try for plain white). Select any area in the white as a reference point and clone that blanket (In this case) out of there. ![]() 3. After all of that you will have a picture of your face and a single colour back ground. There are ways to change the look of the entire picture to see the back ground and any parts you could have missed. Try pressing ctrl + i This will invert the colours and you can see if you missed anything. Then invert the colours back. 4. Open up Filter Gallery and select Chrome. Mess around with the settings to get what you would like. I was actually amazed by it's results. I think it looks fairly remarkable 5. If you notice how well my mouth is outlined in a nice line, you can change it from a smile to a sad face by using the Liquefy option. Open it up under Filter and use the move tool. Try different settings and move one side of the mouth up to get a smile. That's my before and after (half) tutorial. ![]() Mess around with it some more and you can also get this as a final result after adding a layer of text.

I'd recommend using a mask on the layer with a blank white layer underneath it. Use the brush to work your way around the subject. The advantage to this is that you can easily go back to the original if any mistakes are noticed later on in the process (rather than having to undo all the way there). Here's a brief description on how it works.
Great start to a Photoshop adventure, but I am afraid the final result might not be defined as 'photography' per se.
