Default textures

i started out by cropping the image. then in lightroom i played with clarity...dropping it down quite a bit to give the flowers a softer look. i used the mask tool to bump up the saturation on the bird. then i took it into photoshop, where i added several textures that i got as freebies on flickrs. it was a process of trial and error, adding textures and adjusting layer styles and opacity until was happy with the look.
i really enjoy this kinda thing.

It's a neat effect. It looks like you had the photo painted onto an old piece of wood or canvas that you found in your grandma's attic.

I think youve done a wonderful job, the original was a little dull for me but the edits really bring it to life, great work (:

You did a wonderful job of taking a snapshot and turning it into art

This is really great. I love the soft tones which give the entire shot a different feel. Beautiful.
I want to learn about textures but still do not know where to start
