Default Bridal bouquet

My brother got married, and at one point while my sister-in-law was having photos taken by the actual photographer for the wedding she set her bouquet down on a table...I liked the way it looked there, so captured this pic.

I didn't do anything dramatic...I created a new duplicate layer and after gaussian blur set the blending mode to soft light. Then I flattened the image and created a feathered selection around the edges to slightly darken and blur the edges. Finally I used hue/saturation to colourize and desaturate the image, and then I faded that effect and used the history brush to lessen the effect on the flower petals. Did I go too subtle with all of this?

Default Beautiful!

No, I think that it's perfect. Soft, but not fuzzy. And the color is lovely!

Not too subtle at all I love it my only critism is the flower in the niddle down a bit is still a bit blurry if that matched the clarity of the rest would be perfect!

Thanks again for the feedback. I think I can see which flower you mean, and I will have to toy with the image again to see if I can change that. Glad you like it though!

i do like the effect, but i agree with the others--i'd like the razor tack sharpness flowers in the before shot to be in the edited shot as well, since they are the main subject. but again--nice work!

Beautiful shot, and I really like the post processing, too. Like tjlmpc said, I also like that the image is has a soft effect, but it's not blurry. Very nice!
