Default Desk flower

Took this picture the other day but I had a vision in mind for it. It was ok that it was a bit out of focus as I was going to turn it into a abstract image anyway. So here's how I came up with it:
What I did was to first duplicate the layer * Adjustment layer, levels and really boost the black level * merge * duplicate * Used Topaz Adjust - Portrait drama to bring out details * Merge * duplicate * Use the pick tool to move image to 45 degree angle and mirror to make the other branch * erase areas I didnt want to show * merge * duplicate* some of the background was still showing so using the paint brush painted over the black area to make it smooth (probably still missed a few parts tho) * duplicate again* adjust saturation on a new adjustment layer * merge * unsharp mask at 50%.
Hopefully someone can find use in these steps.

I really like the new one the best, but they are both really pretty and unusual. I love the new one especially, It would look great framed on the wall Great work and thank you for sharing how you did it.
