This can probably be done in most good editing programs, but I use Elements
![]() I spent a long time trying to figure out how to achieve the bypass effect without curves. I also have finally figured out some vintage processing and textures. If you use Elements and need more help, PM me. I've been there - happy to help. ![]() Texture: www.flickr.com/photos/33817682@N07/3255202809/in/set-7215... Processing (PSE 6): Cloned branches Added gradient to sky. Added a bit of noise to gradient and reduced opacity. Stamp visible (ctrl+alt+del+e) dupl. stamp visible, sepia effect, screen blend mode dupl. stamp visible, drag to top of layers palette, set to overlay Stamp visible, set to multiple, erase center for vignette. Add texture reduce opacity, gaussian blur over subject. Erase center of texture with low opacity eraser. Wanted a little less saturation, so another stamp visible, sepia effect again. Lowered opacity. Increased contrast lost by texture with levels adjustment USM & finally save

Very nice - All I need to do now is to find a good photo which has the right look to match the feel that this type of PP gives out.
Can't want to try it

Great results! I love the atmosphere that came into the 'after' image with the processing. ^^

![]() Thanks, I looked at a lot of images with this style trying to get it "right" - I think I was drawn to the processing because of the mood it created. I like that it's a little vintage, but not too crazy.

Yes it has layers. The biggest differences I've noticed are the settings on brushes, filters, etc. and curves, paths, channels & actions. That's just from the features I realize I'm missing when I try a tutorial for photoshop. Normally I don't miss them too much (though I do wish I had curves).

plug in called easy.filter SmartCurves which I've been using - I found it doing a search for an alternative to curves for Elements 6. It's tops! Just google it and you'll find lots of places to download it.
