Default Aging Photo

This is the before image:

And after:

Step 1: Duplicate background image
Step 2: Flip horizontal
Step 3: Apply curves to desired 'cross-processing' look
Step 4: Found texture (by Texturemattic)
Step 5: Have 2 separate layers with the texture; desaturate texture layer 1 (top layer)
Step 6: Apply 'linear burn' layer effect to texture layer 1
Step 7: Reduce fill to 30%
Step 8: Apply 'linear burn' layer effect to texture layer 2
Step 9: Reduce fill to 37%
Step 10: Add a shape layer mask to the image
Step 11: Copy and erase corner of image
Step 12: Paste corner onto a new layer, manipulate with warp tool for page curl
Step 13: Make a drop shadow
Step 14: Found texture (by SeraphicTragedy)
Step 15: Desaturate texture; apply overlay layer effect

Any thoughts? Critiques are very welcome.

Even flipped, that looks like two completely different images to me.

However, the processing effect is quite effective.

Oops, you're right. I don't have the original online but this is the closest to the original.
If anyone really wants to see the original, I could look through my archives for it.

I'm a noob so forgive the question . . . . what program did you use to edit. I've been using Lightroom and I don't see where you can layer????

I love the final results of this though . . . fantastic!

Sands: I use Photoshop CS3. I don't use lightroom because I'm not a photographer, I'm just trying to make my shots look better than tourist-y snapshots. If you want to try something like this, try downloading Gimp or a 30 day trial of Photoshop from adobe.com.

Glayva: I agree.
