Lightbulb Jewel

Here's a pic of my dog, Jewel, after a bath. I may have overdone it with the softening a little, I'm not sure. I was just toying around until I realized that a layer with a black to white gradient on soft light created exactly the effect I was after. I just had to mask Jewel's face so that the gradient didn't wash her out.

I didn't know you could use softener on a dog! Perhaps thats what makes them all fluffy and cuddly.

I think I see what you're trying to do, but unfortunately Jewel has lost her rear end. I would have liked a little less blackness on the left side, but if this is the effect you like then that's all that matters.

Lol!!! Well, yes, she is quite soft and fluffy, now that you mention it...:P
Thanks for the honest feedback. Now that you mention it, I agree that maybe I did go a little too extreme. Here's a very slightly more moderate version, which was easily obtained by reducing the opacity on the gradient layer (good thing I saved the .psd!). Does that do the trick do you think?

Your third picture is looking a little fuzzy as if there was some smoke around.
In the second I can clearly see the gradient, however the shadow distracts your dogs face

Dayton.
