Retouching and Changing Eye Color

A friend of mine asked me today to give her basic step-by-step instructions on my post-production work for retouching and changing eye color on portraits.

all i do is highlight the iris and use the HUE slider..
bada-boom.

Yes, the color is beautiful, but it appears a bit unrealistic. I personally would have stayed more neutral with the color tone to complement the model's skin and hair color.
