I selected the eyes and put them on a diff layer
desaturated the rest of the pic but not all the way
used blurring tool and blurred around the nose area
then i selected eyes went to hue\saturation and changed colour and saturation
.selected around the face took a big brush with low opacity and painted over background. changed colour to white shrunk the brush alot to whiten eye area
selected a pinky colour for the cheeks
i did more small steps in between but dont really remember.
hope i covered it.

At first glance I thought the finished photo looked like he was underwater but after looking at it a little more, it makes me think of one of those child charity adverts where "this child needs your help!"

I love what you've done with the eyes, really makes them stand out!

I love the postproduction work you did to the photo. It's probably not a picture you'd want to glue into the family album because of the rather dark atmosphere, but it has a very refined and clean look.

The way you bring the picture back to life with the addition of the rosey cheeks really works well. Otherwise it would look dead, like so many other pictures treated with the colourkey effect.

The photo itself I think could have used a slightly longer exposure/wider aperture to bring it to the bright side a little more.
Great crisp shot tho!
