Default I'm colour blind and not sure if this works

I am colourblind and it is often difficult to tell if post processing works. Here is the original

Original Dawn

To me it looked like the colours needed a boost just to make it stand out. Here's what I ended up with.

Dawn

Here's what I did.

First I straightened up the building slightly, then increased the saturation and hue. After this I hit "one step noise removal"

I used Corel Paint Shop pro Photo X2

I use one step noise removal a lot.. but for photos like this, I wouldn't use it personally. I only use one step noise removal when I'm dealing with people and they want really bad acne removed.
I have psp 2 also, so we have all the same settings.

I moved the contrast and brightness both to 10

I took the warmer up a half of an inch

Then, I took the contrast up 2 brightness up 8.

Definitely improved from the original. You might be interested in an article I found this morning on Using Black and White as the Key to Better Colour.

I might be crazy but it looks to me like the building has been made more crooked!

Definitely rotated and perhaps slightly scaled, although it looks straighter to me in the second version (a difficult call because of the various "verticals" in the picture).

Thanks for that link Wulf it looks like it might be worth having a try.

The building has several non true vertical lines all at contradictory angles. I decided to make the longest line the vertical and ignored the rest
Maybe there was a better way to do it - but I'm just a newbie at this.
