I was going back home when I saw this sad street in Badalona and I coudn't help myself but to take a picture of it...
Before...
...and After
EXIF: Camera: Canon EOS 400D ISO: 100 Exposition: 1/250 sec Aperture: f/3.5 Focal length: 18mm Flash: No PP: in ACR: 1- Exposure 2- Shadows 3- Contrast 4- BW 5- Sharpening in PS: 6- Fix sky (after WB it came out too white) 7- Color Correction (Curves) Please let me know any criticism you might have. Is the "after" photo ok in terms of color/brightness/contrast???. The cropping is still missing and I, definitively, want to do some but the pylon in the middle of the picture is bothering me... (not went to the cloning training yet). Maybe it is a good picture to convert to B/W. Let's see...

Marcal, I think you have your work cut out for you with this shot!
![]() Britening it and correcting the colour has woken it somewhat, but its still very drowsy! I think that there is just some much going on with the power/telephone lines, the short pole in the mid/foregroud and the patch of sky. I'd consider "over-processing" it and going for an arty outome! |

This may not be of much help with this photo, but consider going back to re-take it.
I'd get closer to the wall and try to frame the repeating balconies and therby cutting out all the "wire noise: above the roof line. |

I agree with Pdb...an over-processed artsy look may be the way to go. Some people like the over processed look and others can't stand it. It's all subjective. Here is an example of a way over-processed effect using your image...hope you don't mind. I did this really fast so there is a bit of halo effect...but I did get rid of most of the wires and cropped. I do like the grafitti on the wall...really adds to image.

I'll try this overprocessing thing this afternoon when I get home and see what happens. Any hint about what to play with (which commands)?

Hi Marcal,
You can play around with adding different layers and blend modes. Duplicate the original layer and then change blend modes to see different effects. You can also use filters, masks and brushes to add to the photo. Have fun.... |
