Default Chineese Food Anyone??

This is the before,
2008 08 31_2171

And after,
Chineese Food

Method:
1.Ctrl J, High-pass filter Radius 5-10, Change Blend Mode to overlay, Hard Light or soft light
2.Duplicate background layer put it on top
3.De-saturate this layer
4.Change blend mode to overlay
5.Click on new layer and fill with 50% grey, Change blend mode to overlay
6.Black brush to burn, White brush to dodge, Brush opacity at 50%
7.If needed darker still drag top layer to new layer icon and duplicate it making the whole scene darker. Apply a layer mask via the, “new layer then group” steps and add more darkness to the image with a soft low opacity (50%) brush.
Tutorial from www.photowalkpro.com

Then I attempted to turn the light on by adding lens flare to the fixtures then sellecting an area with the magic lasso and adjusting the brightness.

Any other tips on "turning the lights on" would be appreciated. That was my goal here. Did I do it right?

thats good work. you did a good job on the lights, and i like the colour of the wooden doors.

in elements 6 there is a tool called "lighting effects" and you can add spotlights and other types of light.. and several of them quite easily.

its very effective and very easy.. give it a go.

Thanks for the advice, I'll have to play around with it!

That is an amazing transformation. It went from looking like a regular restaurant to looking like a chic eatery in the city. Good job!

Nice job!
The only thing that bothers me is that those little lights are throwing a heck of a lot of light on the ground and the base of the wall. The wall itself should be in more of a shadow from the roof line, and it should cast forward. Those lights appear to be above and behind the tile roof.
