Default Pumpkin Patch Kid

This is a shot I took of my nephew over the weekend at a pumpkin patch. Anything I could do to improve the 'after' shot?

Before:

After:
ethan

I didn't do a lot, but here are the steps as far as I can remember.
1. Cropped image.
2. Adjusted the Level to lighten the photo a little.
3. Added the 'warming filter' in the photo filter section.
4. Adjusted the Shadow/Highlight attributes.
5. blurred pumpkin in bottom left corner.
6. used clone stamp to remove the number from the pumpkin.
7. removed the band-aid from his left hand.
8. Added the cloud so the sky wasn't empty.

I think you did a nice job - if you wanted to go a little farther you could lighten the shadow side of his face a little.

I wanted to do that but I haven't figured out that technique yet. Any tips you can give?

Thanks for the reply by the way.
