looks very good... i prefer the first to be honest..
the colours add something. (maybe its just me) nice shot either way.. thay are both great

Thanks candleman. I like the first as well, because I love orange/yellow roses. Honestly, I did the editing because I had this idea to make a print and give it to my sister-in-law for Christmas as a framed photo, and thought it looked more "professional" as a B&W print.

The rose is actually an orange climbing rose. I did tweak it a little bit in Camera RAW, but not much. I only tweaked it enough to bring out some of the subtle differences in the shades of orange/red. It was shot against a gray cinderblock foundation, and I wanted to make the background darker and the orange colors pop more.
I am still trying to decide if I will frame the color or B/W version...decisions, decisions.. |

oh my gosh.. your rose has a little stow-away!
i just saw it now! its green.. and is sitting in the top right hand petal that is standing up. it looks like an Aphid. did you kow it was there ?

I love the colour version ... Its beautiful
If you are planning on giving this as a gift ... check your lense ... it looks like you have a dust bunny it will show on the picture much worst
