Default Jean Pierre

I'm new at photography and I made a lot of mistakes when I take pictures.
The first picture was a mistake.

Jean Pierre (Before)

So I fixed up...

Jean Pierre

What I did was:
I made an HDR file using Qtpfsgui (I know this is not a real HDR, but the app says it is).
I toned mapped the pic with Mantiuk (Its a Qtpfsgui feature).
I made a crop, changed the color balance and changed the contrast (GIMP).
As a final step I've processed the pic with Noise Ninja to remove noise.

Feel free to download, modify and repost.

I like the look you got.

I'll probably start testing those programs.

It almost looks surreal. . . I think it looks good. Something I would hang on my wall. I don't know why, but it makes me think of the South.

Did you make the HDR file from three photos? Or did you take one photo, change the exposure and then run it through Qtpfsgui. I have it and I am just having a terrible time with it...

No, I made the HDR from a single JPG using the profile #3 (click where it says New HDR and then load a single JPG).
I know this is not a real HDR, but it looks cool.

nice work....I would have guessed mantiuk I use to use that all the time.....
I just hated not being able to adjust things in real time.....
I really like the image itself great Comp and perfect crop to bring focus on the subjects.
