I saw this helicopter sitting at a State Nursing home driving down the highway and had this wild idea. I had to use the selection tool on one side of the bird and copy and paste as a new layer on only half of the part where the ground was showing, masked off the parts of the plane and then merged layers and cloned out areas where there was a seem. Repeated on the other side.
Used the motion blur effect on a duplcate layer until I liked what i saw on the one blade and then erased all areas I wanted to remain normal. (i'm sure thr clouds could have been somewhat differently but not sure how) Converted to black and white and here we have a helicopter in flight! ![]()

HAHA.. i cant believe you have more firepower sitting outside a nursing home than the NZ airforce could put together if we were actually attacked.
lolol good idea

I was about 3 feet in front of it. I knew it had to have been something special but had no idea how or why, thanks for giving me the heads up.
This is sitting outside of the Colorado State Veterans Nursing home and no one was there. It is sitting right next to an area that looks like ahelicopter landing area as it had a big red x int he middle of it. I odnt know if I was supposed to be there (probably not) I just pulled in the parking lot and jumped out of my car and ran up to it. Thought it looked pretty impressive and guess i was sure right

Good effort, but I'll nitpick a little: you left the rear prop stationary. I think it actually turns a little faster and so should have more blur than the main rotor.
Have a look at some of my shots of helicopters in flight in this set on flickr. The shutter was actually too fast fast on these so that it stopped the main rotor, which I did not intend, but it left a little blur on the rear prop. Hope this heips. Have fun! |

I did apply a tiny bit of motion to the rear rotor, perhaps not enough or too much?
