The before picture wasn't bad. I would probably pick a time of the day when the sun didn't create strong contrast. A overcast day might also be a good time to take this shot.
Sometimes I go overboard with my post processing and editing. Cloning out of the people was excellent. Keep at it you, definitely have skills.

dont forget the reflections of the people in the water.
good effort otherwise. i'm sure it can be salvaged.. on the layer you did the adjustments to.. i'd erase the super bright portions. or mask it out... that way you'll see the orginal wall, but the rest will be as edited

Maybe to fix the overexposed wall on the right you can copy and flip the wall on the left.
Candleman. Good catch on the reflections in the water. Never would have thought of it until it was blown up and mounted on the wall.

Nice pic and nice touch up too.
If you have a second go, reshoot the pic to include the main structure in the centre as it appears [in the water reflection] to have an arch that would add some interesting detail and it would also include some sky too. |

I touched it up a bit more, but there is still alot for me to improve upon - lol. I cant seem to get that door in correctly, too my liking.
