I like the final version too.

I am going to get super picky, but part of it might just be the smaller version I have to look at. It appears that there is some sort of white "halo" starting at about his left ear and continuing around his head until the right ear. And the part of the fence post that enters his right cheek appears to continue into it, perhaps because of the highlight on his cheek. On the whole, however, I think your work on this picture is very impressive, and these are very minor details that you might or might not want to work out depending on how they appear in the larger one.

To mirror: make a copy of the image, flip the layer, move the part you wish to mirror into place, mask the copy and then paint to reveal what you wish to show.
