Default The Making of an Old House

Went out to take some shots while it was quite cloudy and favorable but by the time I reached there, the sun was already shining hard (afternoon time); that's how the monsoon season is, if you know.

Anyhow took some shots and this one was particularly hard as I was shooting almost directly in to the sun. So here is how it came out...

Old House [Original]

After reaching back home, I was intent to not let go of all the time spent and particularly liked the composition and subject matter here so went on a post-processing ride to finish with this...

Processing was done in Lightroom and Photoshop. In Lightroom, I pushed Recovery and Clarity slider all the way to 100 and also increased the saturation a bit to bring out more greens. Later on in Photoshop, I increased local contrast repeatedly to taste and dodged and burned different areas, specially the house to match the lighting as I wanted.

All in all, spent around 30 - 45 minutes fixing this. So you be the judge how it came out

Great post processing. I think you took what might've been an ordinary shot, and gave the photo a great artistic touch. Much more appealing.

Love everything about it, except for the car. I didn't notice it in the smaller version, but I'm afraid it ruined the larger version for me. Have a go at cloning it out ....

It's excellent. I love all of the greens, it just looks so crisp. It kind of reminds me of a Robert Kincaid painting.
