Rules for 'Before and After' Forum

After many requests from readers for a section like this today I'm happy to announce our 'Before and After' forum - a place to show off your post production skills by posting two shots:

Before - a shot straight from your camera with no editing done to it

After - a shot from the end of your post production work flow

Here are a few simple tips for how we'd like this thread to run.

For image posters
1. Basically we'd like this thread to run similarly to the 'How I took it' thread where one person shares both their images but also HOW they got the results that they did.

ie while you're welcome to show off your work we'd like this to be a learning experience where you impart your knowledge on how you got the end result. You don't have to go into massive depth if you don't have the time but the more you can share the more we'll all learn.

2. To share your photos please start a new thread and post two images (1 'before' and 1 'after'). If you don't know how to post them see this thread.

3. Please describe the process that you used to get from the 'before' shot to the 'after' one.

4. Feel free to include a link back to your Flickr/Zoomr account and/or your photoblog if you have one

5. Also feel free to ask any questions you might have that others might be able to help you with.

For others
If you'd like to respond to the submission you might like to:

1. Give feedback/encouragement
2. As a question or get more information
3. Make suggestions (while the critique is more focussed on this I'm sure those submitting images won't mind if your feedback is constructive and helpful)

Please Note:
I'd also like to feature some of the 'photos and descriptions of how you got the results you did on the main DPS site (with a link back to your flickr account/photoblog to highlight more of your shots). So in submitting to this thread know that your shots and descriptions might be used in this way.
