![]() ![]() This scanned print was taken with 127 mm film and a primitive $30 camera. The place is a "suburb" of Bisbee, Arizona called Lowell. It used to be a small city but was gobbled up by the large open-pit mine (Lavender Pit) and this is the only street that remains. The entire town is a step back in time. I couldn't believe my good fortune to find this car on this street at this time of day. One minute after I snapped my photos, a bright red motorcycle pulled up right in front of it. Whew. As you can see, the buildings on the first shot are completely blown out. Since I can only post two photos, here's a link to the 3rd photo involved in the before part of this process. www.flickr.com/photos/27932019@N07/2605169226/in/set-72157606685722726/ In the first photo, I am shooting south to north. In the second (on the link), north to south. I duplicated the second photo and reversed it so it would face S to N. When I did that, the pool sign was backwards. I cut, reversed and pasted back onto the sign. (Wish I could post all three photos) Next, I selected the car, cut and pasted onto the reversed street. While the angle of the car is the "tell" that it is pasted, I think it's okay. If I ever try this a again, I will use transform to angle it better. Finally, the scene through the window of the car didn't match. I moved the top photo of the car onto the photo of the street. Selected the mask feature, lowered the opacity a little bit, and brushed in the street to show through the window. Finally, I boosted the contrast, saturation and added a sepia tone in Picnik. Voila! If you can call 1.5 hours a voila. Did you buy it?

Less than 5 minutes ago actually. I really like what you've done with it. Old cars deserve an old looking photograph to be in.

That's very creative and nicely done. However the giveaway is in the shadows - the sign shadow goes "into" the photo and the car shadows on the ground cast "out" of the photo. But if one didn't know, it would not likely be noticed!

I think it's a Model A. The T had fenders that were more separated. About 1929.

I agree that old cars warrant using photos to extend their posterity. Glad you liked the effort. Do you also like art cars. Here's a link to The Fortune Telling Liion Car (also from Bisbee, AZ). http://www.flickr.com/photos/2793201...7606685722726/http://www.flickr.com/photos/2793201...7606685722726/
