So here is the picture I used:
![]() to create this: ![]() THe cloud image I burned to high heaven ![]() The moon I cut out and overlayed at 75% opacity the shot w/the geodome I copied and pasted onto the cloud one and then I added a bolt of lightening and then adjusted color and brightness and burned the fence... All comments welcomed - This is my first layering project...

Pat...I'm so glad that you've ventured...
I love the concept and the photos that you used. The lightning...doesn't quite work for me. I can't put my finger on it though. I think the perspective is off. Something that close I would imagine the lightning would be overpowering. This lightening is missing it's oomph...

Should I make it bolder, more "fingers" where should it point? That was kind of my issue also... Maybe have it go behind the fence?

Bolder, behind the fence and the background of the actual path of the lighting brighter...remember, lighting really lights up a sky.

ok - I am playing with this plug-in and I do not think I can make it any wider or bolder -
But, I sure will try...

It appears as though you're getting the layer thing down. Perhaps the elements here might not be right in relationship to each other. The brightness of the geodome & the thin "string-lightning" just don't seem to go with the background. The moon, clouds and fence are actuall a great start (IMO). The other items just seem to detract. Keep it up though. Your placement of these layers and the way each element sits there looks good. I can't tell that you C&P'd the geodome. So, well done with your layering project. Keep it up.
PS . . .my first layering project was kinda weird. If you don't mind the hijack (delete it if you want) . . . the clouds, the headstones, the face in the window, the moon and the trees are all seperate layers. I drew the house. So, I really give you credit for your first try.

Thank you
I think the layer thread would be a good idea.
