Default In flight

I wasn't able to get to close to this bird, maybe 35 forty 40 feet away. Wasn't sure if I was close enough or if my lens was sharp and quick enough to capture a bird in flight.

Before

I was, in my opinion, to far away. Picture looked a little underexposed.

After

I cropped the photo taking the bird out of the middle of the photo. Bumped up the exposure and contrast.

Just a thought, what if you crop it differntly so that the bird is in the lower left part instead of being at upper left. I think that might give it space to "fly up"

I agree with Itanium. And carefull with the contrast. You lost some detail in the bird's tail.

Thanks,

Having someone else critique my photos helps me with paying attention to details I would otherwise missed.

Peace

I re-cropped the photo. The detail in the tail is not that great in the original.

Nice shot.
I prefer the second edit but I think I would brighten the bird a bit more to make it stand out from the background.
